Company philosophy

The underpinning principle to Montupet’s philosophy with respect to its employees is to place the individual in a situation where they are motivated to contribute to the success of the Company as a whole.

We aim to give the employee total responsibility within their job role, but also the means with which to meet that responsibility. To explain this we use the analogy of hammering in a nail. To do this the individual holds the nail steady with one hand while holding the hammer with the other. By using the hammer correctly, they will achieve their aim. However if they do not perform the task correctly they are likely to injure themselves and must suffer the consequences .
It is therefore in the best interests of the individual to use the hammer properly and the responsibility for doing this belongs to them.

Giving responsibility and delegating the corresponding authority results in a decentralised organisation whose employees act with autonomy.

Access to more knowledge by :
- information given and received
- training
- the sharing of knowledge between people and plants.
Access to further responsibility by :
- delegating new projects
- allowing access to decentralised resources

To act with authority is to assume the responsibility which inevitably goes along with it, as follows.

To accept accountability .
To communicate with one’s boss in a forthright and timely
fashion on all difficulties encountered, problems to be overcome, potential improvements or the inevitable mistakes which one will make.
To act as a team player and to respect the authority and position of others.

To be successful with Montupet therefore one must be able to work with others and have the aptitude
to lead and develop a team and in so doing contribute to the success of the whole Company.
