Work placements

Montupet is committed to establishing and reinforcing links with local schools, colleges and universities. This is achieved through work placements, careers fairs, plant visits.

We recognise the importance of investing in our employees of the future. With this in mind, the company provides a number of work placements every year for:

Students aged 16-18 years for a 1 or 2 week period in the following areas:

. business
. engineering

Company philosophy / Typical jobs / Selection Process / Welcome, induction, training / Work placements

1 year industrial work placement for University Engineering students in the following disciplines:

. quality
. process
. maintenance/plant
. design / research and development

Participation in the Industrial Scholarship Scheme. In conjunction with the Queen’s University of Belfast, the company sponsors engineering students throughout their University career, providing financial support and work placements during vacations. Students spend 1 year in Montupet and 3 years at University working towards graduation. Students are paid a salary while working at Montupet (during the year in the company and during university vacation periods).

Foreign Exchange Programmes
From time to time the company gets involved in the exchange programmes between young graduates in the Belfast plant and counterparts in France and / or Spain. The exchange may be between two Montupet plants or may be through the IAESTE programme.
