Welcome, induction, initial training
Our priority at Montupet is to make you feel welcome as soon as possible. This is achieved through an induction programme consisting of sessions that explain the following:
The Company History
During initial induction new employees are given background information on the history of the Montupet organisation. The company has a very colourful and interesting history, beginning over 100 years ago as a small family owned business, casting components in traditional metals like iron and brass. Over the years Montupet has developed into a multi-national organisation. During induction particular emphasis is placed on the Dunmurry factory.

Our Customers
Initial induction also explains our association with many of the major car
manufacturers with whom Montupet is proud to list as our customers. This unique
bond, through design, development, prototyping, pre-production and eventual full production is highlighted.

Quality Standards
An introduction is given to the quality standards and systems that are in operation within the Company, many of
them unique to the Motor Industry. Quality standards may be international or European and are emphasised as
being critical to the success of our operation.

Health and Safety
The Health and Safety of our workforce is dealt with in depth during initial induction and forms a vital part of the
primary training period with the Company. During initial induction new employees are made aware of the part they
can play in helping us maintain a safe, healthy working environment. The Dunmurry factory was awarded the ISO14001 standard in 1999.

Training and Development
Training is also highlighted as a vital part of development, and during induction the programme of initial training
and assessment is outlined. The company’s commitment to continuous development and life long learning was
recognised in 1999 when it attained the Investor’s in People standard. Employees are encouraged to participate in
various learning opportunities and are sponsored through related distance
learning programmes.
